Gradualism

• Evolutionary change is very slow, but ongoing.

Punctuated Equilibrium

• Where the change stops for long periods of time until there is an environmental change that puts some sort of stress on a population or the 'opening' of a new opportunity. At that point, some RAPID change occurs.
