All soils are made up of six components, organic matter, air, water, and rock particles. Rock particles can be further divided into silt, sand and clay. Soil types differ greatly from location to location. Soils change because they differ in relative amounts of each six components. In short, soils have the same ingredients but the "recipe's" change.
