Lenses and Mirrors

Lenses cause light rays to converge and diverge. However, it is convex lenses that cause refracted light rays to converge to a focus. Mirrors and lenses are all around you. You may use a mirror in the morning before you get ready for school, but you can also see yourself in the shiny surface of a toaster. A shiny spoon is a concave mirror on one side and a convex mirror on the other. Glassware, water, and windows all refract light rays. Without the lenses in their eye glasses, many people would not be able to see cleaerly.
