There are always parts of your body that are gathering information about what is going on inside and outside your body. This information is gathered by your sensory receptors. Sensory receptors are body parts that are specialized to sense or detect changes in your environment. Soensory receptors are located throughout your body. They are especially abundant in your eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin. For this reason, these body parts are sometimes called sensory organs. An organ is a body part that does a particular job.
